Chapter 46: Icons Image

1. What is the “Icons Image” Page?

This page collects only the icons that represent images, photos, pictures, galleries, cameras, film rolls, portraits, landscape orientation, camera-related actions (photo, video, film), and visual media.

These icons are extremely useful for:

  • Photography / portfolio websites
  • Image gallery / photo album sections
  • “Upload Photo” or “Add Image” buttons
  • Blog post “Featured Image” placeholders
  • Social media / profile picture indicators
  • Video / film / media player controls
  • “Take Photo” or “Record Video” buttons in apps
  • Camera app interfaces
  • “View Gallery” or “Open Images” links
  • E-commerce product photo thumbnails

In Font Awesome 5 free, the Image category is medium-sized and very practical (around 15–25 icons, mostly solid fas style, some regular far). Newer versions (FA6/7) added many more (camera-retro variants, image-polaroid, photo-film, camera-movie, aperture), but FA5 free already has the most commonly used image & camera symbols that are still powering almost every photo gallery, portfolio, social app, and media website in 2026.

2. Main Free Image Icons in Font Awesome 5 (From the W3Schools Page)

Here are the most important and frequently used free ones you’ll see in the table (solid fas unless noted):

  • Image / Picture πŸ–ΌοΈ (generic photo / landscape frame) <i class=”fas fa-image”></i> (also far fa-image)
  • Images (multiple photos stacked) <i class=”fas fa-images”></i>
  • Camera πŸ“· (classic camera) <i class=”fas fa-camera”></i>
  • Camera Retro πŸ“· (retro / vintage camera) <i class=”fas fa-camera-retro”></i>

  • Show how they look in a modern social media profile upload flow?
  • Compare FA5 vs FA6/7 image icons (way more camera & photo variants in newer versions)?
  • Or move to the next category like “Icons Images” (yes, there’s also a separate Images category right after)?
